Preserving your privacy

Dealko collects and uses only the information that we need to process your order and to allow you to use the community forums and community features. Where some of this information is only required for certain community features we give you the option of telling us what it is. Dealko will not share, rent, lend, sell, give-away or shout from the rooftops your personal information to anyone, unless you specifically opt-in to some wacky feature we invent in the future - in which case we'll let you know and you will have to manually opt-in first. Basically, we treat your information in the same way we'd want our personal information treated; we hate spam too! The Dealko site does make use of cookies, but solely to allow you to interract with the site and it does not contain any personal information - so don't worry!

Your Email address

Why do we want your email address? Quite simply, if you forget your password or username then we can Email you this information. In the near future we will be launching our Newsletter service. You are automatically opted out of this service and must manually agree to receive it through the Your account channel. If you've opted in, then you can opt-out at any time in the same way.

We will also use your Email address to confirm any purchases you've made and keep you up to date with its progress through the delivery procedure. If you enter the competition to guess the sell-out time of the item and win, then we will also let you know via Email.

Your Cell phone Number

Why do we want your cell phone number? In the near future, we're going to start a free service where you will be able to receive a SMS (text) message on your cellphone to give you a heads-up on what is about to be loaded onto the Dealko site for the next sale. Cool eh? Again, this is an opt-in service; you're automatically opted out of this when you register. If you decide to opt-in then you can opt-out at any time in the same way by visiting the Your account channel.

Account details and Identity Theft

Listen carefully, we'll say this as clearly as we can. We will never request ANY personal information from you via an Email. If you ever get such an Email do not respond. Ever. Don't even contemplate it for a moment - it's a scam and they're impersonating us in an attempt to get you to reveal your details. These people are very clever and the Email will be designed to look like it came from us. If we ever need you to contact us regarding your personal details then there will be a message displayed on the screen after you login clearly telling you why we need you to contact us.

What this means in practice is that you should occasionally login to your account even if you're not intending to buy the item currently on sale.

If you get an Email that you think may be trying to steal your account information or identify details, please forward it to service@dealko.com so that we can confirm to you whether it's genuine or not.
